Steel Panther - rock gods or comedy geniuses?

Steel Panther began as a band which parodied eighties metal groups. Now they've officially become rock gods in their own right, selling out venues internationally and are set to release their third studio album.

SOUNDBITE Steel Panther members, Michael Starr and Lexxi Foxx, saying (English):
Michael Starr: "It's the most important record for any heavy metal band. Look - third record by Bon Jovi - 'Slippery When Wet', third record Van Halen..."
Lexxi Foxx: "What was that?"
Michael Starr: "I don't remember. Third records are pinnacle points in..."
Lexxi Foxx: "Michael Jackson's 'Thriller'"
Michael Starr: "There you go. That's his third record, right? Huge. So if you put those odds in a lottery, we're at like three per cent at having a number one record."
Michael Starr: "Well album song ideas or song ideas for the record usually come from experiences
that we've had. Or we'll be together and Stix will go 'Oh my god, dude, wouldn't it be cool to do a song about a gloryhole?' And Satchel will be like 'Yeah!' and me and Lexxi will be like 'Huh? Cool'
And of course, being heavy metal, image is very important for their credibility.
SOUNDBITE Steel Panther members, Michael Starr and Lexxi Foxx, saying (English):
Lexxi Foxx: "It's the whole thing. It's a lifestyle that we're bringing back, it's not just our music. You can see that right now - look at what Michael has on. Look at that! It's very jungly, you said this earlier and it's bitching but you've still got the Van Halen t-shirt and the heavy metal jacket with the fringe."
Michael Starr: "And don't forget this. This is an accessory called a scarf. You can go like that with it for your heavy metal distant look or you can bring it back down for your heavy metal sexy look."
"All You Can Eat" is out on April 1st but a word of warning - it's not for the easily offended.
