According to Ghetto
radio, a church called ‘Lord’s Propeller Redemption Church’ has declared
wearing panties to Church as ‘ungodly’. “All the women were informed
not to be wearing bras and panties to the church,” a source revealed.
The Church’s pastor Rev Njohi says that when people go to church, they
need to be free in body and spirit in order to receive Christ. He also
allegedly warned the congregation of dire consequences for failure to
uphold the new law. I wonder how they are going to ensure the
congregation follows this new law.

Michelle Obama to appear on 'Parks and Recreation'
The cast of "Parks and Recreation" is getting a new member for a night: Michelle Obama.
The first lady's office says Mrs. Obama will appear on the NBC show's season finale on April 24.
The show's Twitter account said it's "time to get real about Pawnee's obesity." It's a reference to Pawnee, Indiana, the fictional town where the show takes place, and the first lady's campaign against child obesity.
The show's star, Amy Poehler, helped the campaign earlier this week when she appeared at a "Let's Move" event in Miami, where Mrs. Obama joked that she and Poehler are best friends.
Mrs. Obama won't be the first White House figure to appear on the show. Vice President Joe Biden made a cameo on the show in 2012.

Armed men seize two airports in Ukraine's Crimea, Yanukovich reappears
Armed men took control of two
airports in the Crimea region on Friday in what Ukraine's new leadership
described as an invasion and occupation by Moscow's forces, and ousted
President Viktor Yanukovich reappeared in Russia after a week on the
run.
Yanukovich said he would continue the struggle for Ukraine's future as tension soared on the Black Sea peninsula of Crimea, the only region with an ethnic Russian majority and last major bastion of resistance to the overthrow of the Moscow-backed leader.
More than 10 Russian military helicopters flew into Ukrainian airspace on Friday over Crimea, Kiev's border guard service said, accusing Russian servicemen of blockading one of its units in the port city of Sevastopol, where part of Moscow's Black Sea fleet is based.
The fleet denied its forces were involved in seizing one of the airports, Interfax news agency reported, while a supporter described the armed group at the other site merely as Crimean militiamen.
Moscow has promised to defend the interests of its citizens in Ukraine. While it has said it will not intervene by force, Russia's rhetoric since the removal of Yanukovich a week ago has echoed the run-up to its invasion of Georgia in 2008.
Ukraine's top security official, Andriy Paruby, said the armed men were taking their orders from the top in Russia. "These are separate groups ... commanded by the Kremlin," Paruby, secretary of the National Security and Defence Council, told a televised briefing in Kiev.

I won’t reply Mourinho-Eto’o
Samuel Eto’o says he will not ‘cause trouble’ by responding to comments made by Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho about his age.
The Portuguese tactician was heard
during a conversation about his lack of firepower at Stamford Bridge
claiming that 32-year-old frontman Eto’o could be as old as 35.
The Cameroonian striker was offered the
opportunity to reply following a UEFA Champions League outing at
Galatasaray on Wednesday.
Eto’o was happy to joke about the issue
with reporters, claiming he still has ‘juice’ and can keep scoring goals
‘until I am 50’.
He went on to explain to beINSports
that while he was disappointed not to start Chelsea’s latest European
outing, he has no axe to grind with his boss and will not be drawn into a
debate regarding a discussion which Mourinho considered to be private.
Eto’o said, “I am Samuel Eto’o, to
disturb me will take much more than this. I know my place and I won’t
reply. I would have liked to be in the starting XI so I am disappointed
to be on the bench, but I respect the choice of the coach.
“I came to Chelsea mainly because of
Jose, because we have a great friendship. Things happen in life and you
have to face them. But it doesn’t change the player I am and the career I
have had. You want me to cause trouble by revealing all of my thoughts.
I want us to go as far as possible in this competition and in peace.”
Boko Haram stops 15,000 pupils from schooling …destroys 200 schools
Activities of the Boko Haram sect has
resulted in no fewer than 15,000 pupils dropping out of school in Borno
State in the last one year, a non-governmental organisation, ActionAid
Nigeria, has said.
The group, which made this known on
Thursday, also claimed that the actions of the sect had led to the
destruction of no fewer than 800 classrooms and 200 schools in Borno and
Yobe states respectively.
The disclosure came as the NGO also
described the killing of 59 pupils of the Federal Government College,
Buni Yadi, Yobe State as “a heinous crime and a violation of the rights
of children to life and education”.
According to the Country Director of AA,
Dr. Hussaini Abdu, in a statement, on Thursday, since February 2013,
over 15,000 children have stopped attending classes in Borno State.
Abdu said, “In the past eight months, over 100 students have been killed in different attacks on schools in the North-East.

The men also burnt down 3 catholic churches in Shuwari as well as a seminary school, Saint Joseph Minor Seminary in Shuwa.

Borno Massacre: Death Toll Rises to 59 as United Nation Condemed Boko Haram Act
The United Nations on Wednesday joined
prominent Nigerians and groups in condemning the gruesome killing of
schoolchildren in the Federal Government College, Buni Yadi in Yobe
State by Boko Haram insurgents.
Also, some surviving victims of the attack recounted their ordeal on Wednesday.
According to a report by Nigerianonpoint.com,
Aliyu Ayuba, a JSS 3 student, fled the scene with a bullet in his back.
He said the assailants; young men and boys in military uniforms and
plain clothes, ordered the students to gather in one place and started
shooting sporadically. Aliyu added that all his roommates were killed
and burnt inside the hostel.
Another survivor said, “I was shot in
my left leg, while I was sleeping. When I woke up, I could not walk and
was later taken to the girls’ hostel where the insurgents gathered us
with the female students. They selected some of the female students and
went away with them, while they left some of us groaning in pain from
gunshots.”
A teacher, Mallam Samaila Idris,
narrated how the attackers drove into the school premises in nine Hilux
vans at around midnight on Monday; their bloody operation lasted for
over five hours.
He said that those who stayed at the
school thought the assailants were military personnel, until the
shooting started. Idris added that those in the staff quarters fled
before the terrorists started the fire.
Before the National Human Rights
Commission, the Nigerian Bar Association, the Arewa Consultative
Forum, the Jama’atu Nasril Islam, the Northern Elders Forum, the
President of the Senate, David Mark, the Speaker, House of
Representatives, Aminu Tambuwal, and the Prelate, Methodist Church of
Nigeria, Dr. Chukwuemeka Uche, reacted, a state hospital official
said the death toll had risen from 43 to 59.
“Fresh bodies have been brought in. More
bodies were discovered in the bush after the students who had escaped
with bullet wounds died from their injuries,” Bala Ajiya of the
Damaturu Specialist Hospital said late on Wednesday.
Ajiya added that the school’s 24
buildings, including staff quarters, were completely burned to the
ground by the attackers during the onslaught.
Earlier on Wednesday, the Senate
Committee on Defence and Army had passed a resolution directing the
Chief of Army Staff, Lt-Gen. Kenneth Minimah, to relocate his office to
Borno State in order to effectively monitor the war against the
insurgents in the North –East.
• UN expresses concern
In New York, United States, the UN,
through its Secretary-General, Ban Ki-Moon, expressed worry over
incessant attacks on places of learning and advised that the
perpetrators be “swiftly brought to justice.”
“The secretary-general is deeply
concerned about the increasing frequency and brutality of attacks
against educational institutions in the North of the country. He
reiterates that no objective can justify such violence,”the global body
added in a statement.
One of its agencies, UNICEF also,
expressed outrage at the brutal killings, saying it was “unacceptable
under any circumstances”
“We condemn in the strongest possible
terms this vicious attack on students,” its Regional Director for West
and Central Africa, Manuel Fontaine, said in a statement.
“Many young lives were lost. Many more
students and teachers are deprived of their right to education. Attacks
on children and schools are unacceptable under any circumstances,” the
UN agency added.
It said that, “When a school is under
attack and students become targets, not only their lives are shattered
–the future of the nation is stolen.”
• Senate committee orders Army chief to relocate to Borno
The Senate Committee on Defence and
Army, which also expressed disgust over the attack, passed a
resolution directing the COAS to relocate his office temporarily to
the 7th Division of Nigerian Army in Maiduguri for urgent and
appropriate steps to quell Boko Haram’s repeated attacks on the
North-East.
The committee also directed the Army
boss to adopt new methods for curbing the sect’s excesses in Yobe,
Borno and Adamawa states.
It passed the resolution when Minimah led top officers of the Army to the Senate to defend the budget of the service.
The Yobe massacre was raised by a member
of the committee, Senator Babafemi Ojudu, through a point of order
predicated on Orders 42 and 102 of the Senate Standing Rules.
The committee, in a two-page statement
containing the resolution, explained that, it came up with the decison
after a two-hour brainstorming session with the COAS on the way out of
the Boko Haram menace.
The committee led by Senator George
Sekibo also resolved that all schools and health institutions in the
country should be provided with special security.
It gave express approval to the 2014
budget of the Army and told the COAS that what was of utmost
priority to it now was stemming the killings in the North-East and
not the budget details.
The committee also called on Jonathan
to rise up to the challenge by mobilising resources for the Armed Forces
to fight the insurgents decisively.
• Mark, Tambuwal flay killings
Also in Abuja, the Senate President,
through a statement by his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Paul Mumeh,
condemned “the gruesome murder in cold blood” of the students, saying
Boko Haram had no justification for their action.
He said, “This open declaration of war
on everybody, especially defenceless students, cannot be justified. This
is inhuman, it is animalistic and barbaric. It is unthinkable that this
is happening in Nigeria.
“It is also curious that under an
emergency rule when security operatives should be on red alert, mayhem
still persists. Honestly, this calls for soul searching and I believe
the security authorities must rise to this challenge.”
Mark sympathised with the government and people of Yobe State, especially the families of the bereaved.
Also, Tambuwal called on the military to
change its tactics since it was becoming clear that the Boko Haram
terrorists were operating at a pace faster than its operatives.
He described the killing as “ignoble,
wicked and horrendous,” saying the best way to console the families
of the victims was to go after the attackers and bring them to justice.
Tambuwal, in a statement by his
Special Adviser on Media and Public Affairs, Mr. Imam Imam,
expressed surprise that the insurgents were now turning to “softer
targets.”
He added that authorities were already “ running out of excuses.”
Part of the statement reads, “While we
must all join hands to bring this insanity to an end, we must however
bear in mind that we are running out of excuses in our responsibility to
our citizens.
“We in the House of Representatives feel
the grief and pain of the families of the victims. In this their hour
of need, we will stand with them hand-in-hand, shoulder to shoulder.
“We assure them that as brothers, we
will continue to confront headlong, the threats of terror facing our
nation, and we know we will come out stronger, and victorious.”
Also in Abuja, the National Human
Rights Commission canvassed an open and transparent trial in a court of
competent jurisdiction for those found to be responsible for the
killings.
Describing the massacre as “dastardly,
barbaric, senseless and horrific,” it expressed its readiness to
continue to work towards resolving the security challenges in parts of
the North.
“The commission has been proactive in
human rights monitoring, protection and promotion and will do everything
within its mandate to ensure that Nigerians whose rights are violated
can have redress through the commission,” said its Executive
Secretary, Prof. Bem Angwe.
Angwe called on the relevant authorities
to urgently put machinery in place to ensure that the families of those
who survived the attack and those of the deceased were given social
and economic support.
• FG must live up to expectations – NBA, ACF, JNI, NEF,
The NBA, on its part, asked the
government to live up to its constitutional responsibilities by
protecting the lives of Nigerians.
“We condemn this callous carnage, and we
hereby reiterate the hallowed provision of the 1999 Constitution which
provides that the security, protection of live and property is the
primary duty of the government,” the association said in a statement by
its President, Mr. Okey Wali (SAN).
In the statement titled, “Mr.
President, stop this carnage,” the association added, “We appreciate
the fact that confronting this scourge of insecurity requires collective
leadership at all levels but we call on the President, the service
and security chiefs and governors of the affected states to intensify
efforts in addressing the increasing security challenges that we are
currently facing in Nigeria.”
In its reaction, the Pan-Northern
socio-cultural organisation, the Arewa Consultative Forum, said the
killing of the pupils was a “most cruel and gruesome act.”
The forum wondered why the attacks on
schools and villages in the North-East had continued despite the state
of emergency in the zone.
It said the massacre of the students was
completely against the tenets of Islam for which Boko Haram claimed
to be representing.
The body, in a statement by its
National Publicity Secretary, Muhammadu Ibrahim, appealed to the sect
to embrace the Federal Government’s call on dialogue.
It also called on the Federal
Government to, as a matter of urgency, provide adequate security in
Borno, Yobe and Adamawa states.
The Sultan Sa’ad Abubakar lll-led
JNI asked the Federal Government to wake up to its responsibility of
protecting Nigerians and stop playing politics with human lives.
The JNI, in a statement by its
Secretary-General, Dr. Abubakar Aliyu, said the attack on innocent
pupils was condemnable, considering that it came barely a few days
after similar incidents in Bama, Izge, Malari in Borno State.
While urging Muslim clerics to pray and
fast over the continued insecurity in the country, the body called on
the government to probe the latest attack.
It said, “As always, JNI will not be
deterred nor will it overlook things as they unfold, especially over the
repeated wicked acts of terror being unleashed on the Muslims, hence
JNI received with shock and distress the senseless killings at the FGC
in Buni Yadi by criminals.
“We expect the Federal Government to
wake up to its responsibility of protecting lives and property of
Nigerians, especially in the North -East and stop its diatribe.
“The Sultan of Sokoto and
President-General of the JNI calls on all Imams in their respective
mosques to commence Al-Qunut (special supplication during human or
natural catastrophe, observed during the five daily prayers for ease and
relief). The generality of Muslims are also implored to fervently pray
for the restoration of peace and security in Nigeria, bearing in mind
that without Nigeria there will be no Nigerians.”
The Islamic body expressed concern over
the continued killings despite the state of emergency and the numerous
checkpoints currently in place in Adamawa, Borno and Yobe states and
other parts of the north.
The JNI said the perpetrators of the killings must be fished out.
The spokesman for the NEF, Prof. Ango
Abdullahi, said the attack on the college could have been avoided if
the government had taken the advice given by the group in 2012
seriously.
He argued that since the battle
against the insurgents was not a conventional one, conventional
methods were not likely to yield results.
Abdullahi said, “Even the world’s
greatest powers find it difficult to win this kind of war in the
North-East. Government must look at the root causes of this insurgence.
“This is a human problem and if it is a
human problem, it is human beings who will sit around a table to discuss
this issue. These killings are senseless and we condemn them.”
The Methodist Church, through its Prelate, Uche, expressed ‘great shock and sadness’ over the attack on the college.
In a statement by the Church’s Media
and Public Relations Officer, Rev. Oladapo Daramola, the Prelate said
he was “praying for the families of the children who were killed
and all others traumatised by this horrendous crime.”
The statement added, “The targeting of
children is heinous and unthinkable. An event like this reminds us of
our common humanity, regardless of religious beliefs, ideological
differences or ethnic sentiments.
“This was a senseless loss of innocent
young lives, especially since schools should be sanctuaries for our
children. These children are innocent, full of life and promise but cut
down in a hail of bullets in a preventable act of terror.”
The church warned that “until the
promoters of these satanic events are unmasked and brought to book,
these attacks may continue unabated.”

Should couples hide their finances from each other?
A couple hiding their finances from each
other is an indication of an underlying problem – a low level of trust.
This permeates other aspects of the relationship.
At a deeper level is the lack of purpose
or vision for the union. Most families have no defined purpose or
mission statement. They have no idea what their coming together will
achieve in the larger scheme of things. Man meets woman; they fall in
love, get married and live happily ever after. Many go in without
knowing their purpose and mission in life, what their life is all about
and what success looks like. They operate on a pay-as-you-go basis.
I was in that shoe when I got married. At
age 30, I was ready to settle down and when I met my wife, I knew she
was the one. As an individual, I did not know where I was going; what my
life was about; hence, I did not find out hers beyond finishing school,
getting a job and climbing the ladder wherever it took one. Since the
direction was not defined, we just assumed we were going in the same
direction. We had to start aiming after the shot has been fired. Many
marriages have unraveled when it dawns on the couple that they don’t
share the same values and are heading in different directions.
We love to assume we know all there is to
know when in truth we don’t. A couple married for more than five years
without a child approached their pastor for prayers. The pastor asked
why they wanted a child. The couple was stunned by the question. What
type of question was that? Is it not logical that after the wedding come
the naming ceremony? At the wedding reception, you are given the hint
that the crowd should be reconvened in nine months’ time for part 2. The
husband explained further, in case the pastor did not hear him well,
that they are legally married and have been trying to have a child for
more than years; they have prayed, fasted and undergone fertility
treatments. The pastor asked again why they wanted a child. Gently, the
pastor explained to the anxious couple that every child comes into this
world for a purpose, and parents should settle the ‘why’ before
bothering about the ‘how’. They should not look for a child simply for
the sake of being numbered among those who have children.
The best man for the job
Success is a team sport and the best team
wins, not the team with the best players. If the wife is a guru in
financial management but the man insists he must manage the family’s
finances, the couple have set themselves up for self-sabotage. When a
couple has a shared vision and both partners buy into that vision,
managing family finances no longer becomes a bone of contention. Like a
closely knit team, the team leader should feel secure enough to field
the best player in each position. Both partners bring a diverse set of
skills to the union. It makes sense to utilise these skills to the
fullest rather than sideline anyone for ego reasons.
This is when diversity becomes a source
of strength. But in many unions, it has been turned into a weakness.
When husband and wife take decisions and work together, it is tough to
beat that team.
Artisans are good in playing the divide
and rule game. If they know that the husband is weak in negotiating,
they wait for the wife to be absent before they corner the husband to
push through their inflated estimate. Children also do it too. They know
who will likely say yes; so they wait for the right time to strike.
Lack of unity among couples can be very
expensive. It is crucial that both partners buy into the family’s
financial goals and investment objectives. If the husband is trying to
save while the wife keeps spending on impulse, they work at cross
purposes. That is why ideally, family finances should be centrally
managed while individual partners have their own pocket money to spend
as they wish.
Joint accounts
Having a joint account can be a sticky
point. Ideally, husband and wives should have a joint account. Each can
have their individual account to manage their personal allowances. Apart
from the fact that this is a union in the true sense of the word, it
avoids the heartache of trying to settle the estate when one partner
dies without a will (intestate). The man may die rich but leaves the
family poor because the wife is not a signatory to his accounts. Even
when there is a will, the paperwork involved is very cumbersome and the
process long-winded, especially if the will is contested. You don’t want
to put your loved ones through that, if you really love them.
If you run joint accounts, if anything
happens to you, your spouse will not have to swear affidavits up and
down to be able to have access to the bank accounts, share certificates,
land documents, etc. That stress is totally unnecessary, especially
when predatory in-laws come into the picture. If some men can see what
their loved ones are going through after their demise, they will think
and act differently while still alive.
Of course, there are trust issues around
having a joint bank account. For example, you can march majestically to
an ATM, 100 per cent sure there is more than enough money, only to be
embarrassed.
Having a joint account requires some
level of trust and responsibility from each party. When that is lacking,
both partners have to put all cards on the table and agree on the way
forward. Whatever option they come up with, there should be a mutual
agreement to proceed with that option.
No easy answers
There is no easy answer to how couples
should move from where they are to where they ought to be in terms of
how they handle their finances.
Each marriage is unique and each
individual comes into the union with their own baggage from the past.
They already have their worldview based on upbringing and past
experiences.
Wherever you are today, blaming the past
will not move you towards your desired future. Call a conference and
fashion out your desired future and what you need to do to get there. If
your partner is not ready, wait until he or she is. Stop building
without a blueprint.
If you know where you want to go, you
will find a way to get there. One fact is not debatable – everything
rises and falls with leadership. When the man steps up to the plate, the
wife follows gladly. If you want your family to move to the next level
financially, get ready for a paradigm shift. It can no longer be
business as usual

At Last Pastor Kumuyi of Deeper Life forgive Son for "Extravagant wedding"
Seven months after suspending his son, John Kumuyi, for staging what is considered 'an extravagant wedding' in Deeper Life doctrine, Pastor W.F. Kumuyi has re-instated him as a pastor in the church after he and elders of the church forgave John and his wife, who were jointly suspended.
It would be recalled that John had allowed the society to influence him and thus ignored his father's teachings in the preparations for his wedding and the wedding proper. His wife had put on make-up and a séxy wedding dress. They even hired an executive limousine for the wedding that took place in Jamaica.
Some members of Deeper Life church in Nigeria were outraged by the pictures from the wedding which they aptly described as flamboyant, when compared to what other members of the church are permitted to wear for their own wedding in the same church. Below is one of such bitter comparison and complains...

Are You A Virgin? You Can win R100,000
From Afican perspective and even biblical, it's an honor for women to keep their virginity until when they are married and such woman will be highly respected both by the community and the husband family.
But that was the hings of the past has there is no reasonable level of importance attached to the "noble" practice any longer.
But a 29 year old Rabelani Ramali (pictured right), a community worker from rural Limpopo province in South African has launched a contest in the country where girls who are virgins at 35 and below would be rewarded with R100,000 or less plus medals; gold, silver or bronze, depending on their ages
Rabelani who has fathered five children by four women out of
wedlock, says he decided to come up with this idea to help checkmate the
rate of unwanted pregnancies and HIV cases amongst south African women.
He said his NGO, SA Virgin Girls Awards, which was registered in
November 2013, is set to take on this task as he has recruited 31
volunteer workers who would help disburse forms among women in schools,
market, churches and other places.
Rabelani said he has contacted local medical doctors who have
agreed to help him carry out the virginity test on the girls who would
come forward to get tested.
R100,000 would be given to virgins between the ages of 31 and 35, R50,000 for those aged 26 to 30 and R25000 for those aged 21 to 25. He expects donors to make the prize money available to the winning contestants.

Over 30 Students Massacre In Yobe State Nigeria By Boko Haram sects.
Over
30 secondary students were slaughtered this morning and their hostels
burnt down. (pic below).
see a pic of some of the students slaughtered today. *viewer discretion advised*

Catherine Igodo Returned From Music Tour of Nigeria
After many weeks in Nigeria touring most of the State and doing what she loves doing best after the release of her album last year, Kate Igodo has since returned to the warm embrace of her sweet and ever caring hubby.
She posted the pictures below after a surprise treat in one of the 5 star hotel in Houston Tx her hubby This is what she has to say
What a way to be welcomed home. Hanging out with hubby at this hotel, (rest and go face the rest of the boys tomorrow) feeling blessed.
But can somebody tell this beautiful woman of God that there will be no rest tonight? but sure you didn't heard it from me Lol
All well and good welcome home, and we 'll all be waiting for our kilichi
